I have been carrying Dave’s seed for quite some time now, and I thought this would be a fitting way to announce it to the world. We’re still deciding on names, so suggestions are certainly welcome. Oh, and sorry… the baby shower is invite only. Look for yours sometime in the spring.

In all seriousness, I’m excited to bring you all our first experiment with the new process. Dave just came up with this, guarding any and all information about the subject matter of his drawing until I received it in my Electronical Mailer. I thoroughly enjoyed writing this, and I think this will work much better for us with everything being remote. This way when I’m working on the comic, there’s an element of surprise and spontaneity that was lost in the previous process. It’s more like tennis or ping-pong, each of our personalities come through in our own medium, showing their own separate voices. Let us know what you think.

We’re going to try something a little different here. You’ve probably noticed the comic becoming less frequent in the past couple months. Well, those months have included a long-distance relationship, crazy deadlines at our day-jobs and many other real-life things. But that’s boring. So instead of drive on about that, we solved for x and figured out a way to make things a little easier for the both of us.

From now on, the comic won’t be so story oriented, we both felt we couldn’t do it justice. Now the collaboration will be less of a concerted effort and more of an “exquisite corpse.” Don’t worry, it’s an art term for drawing on other peoples drawings independent of communication. We’re excited. The comic may take a bit of a turn, but please hang on. It should be fun.

Finally, the bonk head boys discover their namesake. It seams like the rocky start our squat green, gentlemen were off to may have finally turned around. Tune in next time for a taste of pure, uninterrupted bonking.

Today marks the first day of the Bonkheads potboiler. For each potboiler, Dave will make a cover to go with storyline to separate one from another.

Ah, finally, now we can kick this sucker off. Introductions are out of the way, for the most part, and next week we’ll be starting our first potboiler. The Bonkheads! Woohoo!

Some notes…

That mammoth speech bubble from Lucia looks kind of like Eva (sp?) from Wall-e. Someday, I’ll learn how to do these speech bubbles properly, but man that was a good movie. One of my favorites. That’s all for notes. Also don’t expect these ‘notes’ to be a recurring thing.

All chefs have different tastes, some like it salty, some don’t. And then others don’t like it at all. In fact those aren’t actually called chefs. They are health-nut-cooks hell-bent on making food suck for everyone who likes it. And in turn that makes them feel like their food tastes better. Not because of the food’s taste, but because of their acquired taste for misery.

Contrary to popular belief, we are not superheroes. So it’s hard for us mortals to churn out a comic while we’re busy doing the annual August 1st move.

However, we are moving superheroes. Traveling the land with our rental truck saving the stricken from the terror of moving day. Armed with dish packs and dollies [sp?] we troll the streets for the moving citizen in need, making dreams come true on an hourly basis.
